In our region there are numerous hiking trails and tours available in the five locations Leutasch, Mösern/Buchen, Reith, Scharnitz and Seefeld. Hiking vacation in summer

The extensive hiking area on the high plateau in the Region Seefeld offers you a total of 650 kilometers of hiking trails, mountain and climbing routes. Our summer mountain railways – Bergbahn Rosshütte and Gschwandtkopf – are also available to you on your hiking holiday in summer. The ideal opportunity for a carefree ascent or to bring the mountain bike up the mountain.

You can reach the Rosshütte cable car from our Wellness Hotel Schönruh in about 15 minutes on foot. Not much longer, you need about 20 minutes on foot from our hotel to the Gschwandtkopf cable car.

Hiking in the Alps – hiking trails & tours

Our region offers 208 different hiking trails. In Seefeld alone you will find 71 easy to difficult hiking trails.

Easy hiking trail: Seefeld Wildsee-Hochleitenkopf. An easy hiking trail, especially popular in summer, leads over the lake promenade at our Wildsee through the forest and over the beautiful floodplain. The hiking route rewards you with a wonderful view from the Hochleithenkopf viewpoint.

Four short hiking trails lead to the Hämmermoosalm: The ascent begins at the Salzbach car park. The leisurely hike along the forest road, which takes them about 30 minutes total. Whereas the route over the Ganghofer Weg is more sporty and lasts about 20 minutes. You have more time to enjoy nature, namely 45 minutes, if you hike through the Salzbachtal. On the Hämmermoosalm – at 1,470 meters – there are four alpine huts and a wonderful view of the valley. If you continue walking below the Hämmermoosalm, you will reach the Gaistalalm at an altitude of 1,367 meters, which will reward you with an unforgettable view of the beautiful Gaistal.

Medium hiking trail: 3 lakes circular hike on the Seefeld plateau. The 3 lakes circular hike on the Seefeld plateau is popular all year round. The medium-level hiking trail takes about 4 hours and is 12.3 kilometers long. You start at the Seefeld World Championship tennis hall, hike to Möserer See, on to Lottensee and finally to Wildmoossee. From there the hiking trail leads you back to Seefeld.

Mountain hiking and summit tours

During your hiking holiday in Seefeld, you will also find numerous hiking trails for mountain hikes and summit tours. Enjoy the alpine panorama of Tyrol from the summit. For experienced and more demanding hikers, we recommend the Königstour, which is one of the more difficult hikes and, starting from the Seefelder Joch, has the Härmelekopfbahn mountain station as its destination. On a 4.5 hour hike over a distance of 5 kilometers you have to cope with an ascent of 535 meters. The highest point is at 2,364 meters. The view is worth it though!

Hiking events and group hikes

Hiking in the Alps is as much a part of Seefeld as the mountains themselves. There are also numerous hiking events throughout the year. A highlight in spring are the Leutasch mountain spring days followed by the Karwendel march in summer. Our 3-day unicorn march and the Ganghofer Hubertus week always take place at the end of summer and the beginning of autumn.

Guided hike with Stephan

The guided hikes from the Wellness Hotel Schönruh are a special highlight. Our “well-integrated Tyrolean” Stepan will show you his most beautiful favorite hikes. By the way, these easy to moderately difficult tours are free of charge for hotel guests, although fees for buses or trains are not included. These are to be paid by the participants themselves.
